This approximately 10 hour/wk position will serve as the Coordinator of Community Building and Wellness Programming in the Michigan Community Scholars Program , a residential learning community in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan.
Responsibilities include:
- advising the MCSP programming board;
- supporting and mentoring student leaders;
- developing and supporting wellness, cultural, and social programs and activities and coordinating program communications;
- collaborating with other program coordinators on MCSP-wide events, and supporting the director and associate director on special projects as needed.
These responsibilities are to be undertaken with direction and supervision from the Director and Associate Director of MCSP. The position runs from approximately August 1, 2026 to May 15, 2027. Flexible work hours may include days, evenings, and occasional weekends, as required. Some remote work is possible; however, program coordinators are expected to attend a weekly staff meeting, hold a weekly student leader team meeting (Monday, 6-8 p.m.), and maintain regular office hours in the MCSP West Quad office.

- advising the MCSP Intergroup Relations Council student leadership team;
- supporting and mentoring student leaders;
- developing and supporting intercultural and dialogic programs and activities and coordinating program communications;
- collaborating with other program coordinators on MCSP-wide events, and supporting the director and associate director on special projects as needed.

Job RequirementsRequired Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree. Must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at the University of Michigan . Commitment to MCSP mission ; experience with dialogue; experience organizing programs and doing intercultural work; leadership experience; demonstrated experience working with students, particularly underrepresented students; good interpersonal, facilitation, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work effectively with supervisors, colleagues, faculty, staff, and students.
DesiredQualifications
Experience in residential learning communities or similar; experience in mentoring or advising; cultural competence/sensitivity training or experience.
