Early Head Start Educator

Overview

We are seeking an entry-level Early Head Start Educator for the Early Head Start (EHS) program in Oak Park, Sacramento, CA. The role supports families with children from birth to 3 years and pregnant women, through in-person services and weekly home visits.

• Under general supervision, plan and implement individualized community-based programs for a specific number of infants/toddlers and their families.
• Serve as the family’s primary contact, developing an ongoing relationship and supporting the family’s strengths and self-sufficiency.
• Provide weekly home-based visits.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, children, and their families.
• Identify problems, determine possible solutions, and actively work to resolve issues.
• Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Maintain online recordkeeping and documentation for the assigned program, ensuring confidentiality and privacy requirements are met.

• AA in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; at least six (6) ECE units must be in Infant & Toddler development.
• At least one (1) year of successful work experience in an infant/toddler program or Head Start.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and counseling skills.
• Ability to positively influence others, prioritize responsibilities, and build rapport with a diverse range of individuals.

Salary: $23.13 per hour
