Training Specialist III; Remote

Overview

The Department of Revenue (CDOR) is seeking a Training Specialist to join the DRIVES Training team. The role requires an organized communicator and collaborator who can conduct, assess, and deliver training to over 2000 stakeholders across State and County offices. The position involves coordinating virtual and in-person training, supporting end‑user inquiries, and ensuring staff are certified and competent in using the DRIVES system.

The position requires overnight and extended travel across the State; a State vehicle will be provided.

• Administer Training
  :
  Conduct, assess, and deliver comprehensive training and assessments for DRIVES users at State and County Offices; administer new‑hire and refresher training for both virtual and in‑person formats; certify County employees in BOST (Basic Operator Skills Testing) and review competency evidence.
• Training Development
  :
  Design and develop training courses (virtual and in‑person), conduct needs analyses, update materials in response to policy, statute, or system changes, and manage training logistics (equipment, registration, evaluation).
• End User Support
  :
  Provide technical assistance and support for DRIVES inquiries via phone and email, serving as a help‑desk resource for users.

• Seven (7) years of full‑time professional experience responsible for developing and/or delivering business‑systems training to adult learners in classroom or virtual settings.
• OR a combination of related education in business, training, higher education, technology or a related field and experience equivalent to seven (7) years.

• Experience in a technical customer‑service team.
• Familiarity with DRIVES from a county or State office perspective.
• Experience in a help‑desk or call‑center environment.
• Additional experience in public service at the federal, state, county, or local level.
• Instructional design experience.
• Proficiency in audio/visual equipment and materials.
• Intermediate to advanced PowerPoint and Articulate Storyline skills.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience creating web‑based training modules in Articulate Storyline.
• Experience writing storyboards, scripts, or outlining training.
• Experience facilitating virtual training classes.

The salary range for this position is $59,940 to $62,436 annually. The position is classified as a Step Pay Program role; former or current State employees are paid at least the appropriate step rate based on years of service.
