Job SummaryThe Undergraduate Program Manager acts as the primary contact and coordinator for all aspects of the Undergraduate Program in Chemistry. This includes program management and staff supervision for the Undergraduate Program in Chemistry.
Responsibilities*Undergraduate Advising and Advising Coordination:
- Manage overall undergraduate advising process, including staff management, coordination of departmental advisor processes, and holding advising and declaration meetings with students.
- Manage advising outreach activities and events, including representing the department at campus-wide activities.
Develop and maintain a peer-advising program, educate, support and supervise student temporary workers acting in a peer advising capacity.
- Manage the overall enrollment and curricular processes for the Chemistry Department, including processing CARFs and PARFs
- Monitor waitlists, open sections as needed and issue overrides, engaging in substantive campus-wide collaboration to support wide access to Chemistry courses.
- Monitor waitlists and collaborate with the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Education on course additions and access needs.
Staff Management:
- Full supervision of Undergraduate Coordinator/ Advisor;
Introductory Course Coordinator, Undergraduate Assistant and Supervision of Peer Mentor Temps. - Hire, train and provide ongoing support of Undergraduate Program Staff.
Undergraduate Program Management:
- Provide overall Program Management in coordination with the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Education, make suggestions for updates and changes to major and minor offerings, course requirements and support programs.
- Conduct outreach, marketing and represent the Chemistry Undergraduate office for inter-departmental coordination.
- Coordinate Undergraduate Committee and Faculty Support and lead the associated committee administrative affairs for the Advising, Curriculum and Awards Committees.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and higher education experience.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience
- 5 years experience working with students in an academic setting.
- Demonstrated success in interpersonal relations, collaboration, reasoning, and exercising sound judgment.
- Must have high-level proficiency, speed and accuracy with Excel, Word and Google suite.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, efficiently, and productively with a diverse group of students, staff and faculty.
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Must be able to set priorities, exercise initiative, work on multiple projects, and meet/negotiate deadlines.
This position will be eligible for 1-2 days of remote work per week after the initial onboarding plan. This position will require flexibility to manage undergraduate student services team
