Job SummarySchool of Architecture seeks part‑time faculty to teach undergraduate architecture design studio during Fall (6 credit hours) and/or Spring (6 credit hours) semesters.
QualificationsA professional degree in Architecture is required, as well as an advanced degree in Architecture or a closely related design field.
- The School is particularly interested in candidates with teaching experience in an accredited professional architecture degree program.
- Candidates with strong intellectual and creative direction are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates must possess professional design experience and demonstrate a record of recognized creative work, which may include built/unbuilt work, installations or publications.
- The School is committed to supporting those from all backgrounds in its student population, faculty, and curriculum.
Responsibilities of a part‑time faculty member teaching a 6‑credit hour design studio per semester include:
- Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
- Ordering appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
- Preparation of lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
- Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
- Meeting all designated class periods.
- Submitting completed mid‑semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
- Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
