Job Summary Our Lady of the Pillar Catholic School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to promote students' physical, social, and emotional well-being through engaging fitness, sports, and health-related activities. The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for creating a safe and positive learning environment that encourages healthy lifestyles, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong fitness habits. The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence, student development, and supporting the mission of Catholic education.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate physical education lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Promote physical fitness, wellness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.
  • Provide instruction in a variety of physical activities, sports, and movement skills.
  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback on skill development and participation.
  • Establish and enforce appropriate safety procedures and classroom expectations.
  • Organize and manage equipment, facilities, and instructional materials.
  • Collaborate with faculty, administration, and staff to support student success and school initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress when appropriate.
  • Participate in school liturgies, faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
  • Support and uphold the mission, philosophy, and values of Our Lady of the Pillar Catholic School.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid Missouri teaching certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Previous teaching or coaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of physical education curriculum, fitness principles, and student development.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students of varying skill levels and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; all candidates must respect and support the mission and values of Catholic education.
