Position: GRAD STU INSTR - BIO 111

Responsibilities

Primary instructor for one section of BIO 111 lab, including content delivery, appropriate lab setup, grading, and coordinating with other instructors to ensure consistency between sections.

Required Qualifications

Prospective Candidates Should Minimally

  • Be currently pursuing a Master's degree at UM-Flint in good academic standing
  • Undergraduate education in Biology or a closely related field
  • Experience with dissecting microscopes and compound microscopes
  • Basic dissection skills
  • Experience with lab material related to biology of organisms
  • Experience interacting with students in a laboratory setting
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with Canvas LMS and online grading systems.
Course Description

BIO 111 - Organismal Biology

  • N/NL

Introduction to basic principles of biology relating to biodiversity. Survey of microorganisms, fungi, plants and animals, including aspects of classification, development, structure (anatomy) and function (physiology). Emphasizing guided discovery and critical thinking. Lecture and laboratory. Graded ABCDE
