Job Summary

CNCC is seeking qualified part-time instructors to teach fully online courses in Human Nutrition (HWE). Reporting to the Dean of Academic Affairs and Online Learning, as a part-time instructor, you would share your skills and knowledge to prepare CNCC and Colorado Online students for successful careers. Using a master course template that follows Quality Matters (QM) design standards, you would personalize the course and supplemental content to provide a robust online learning experience to our students.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Use an online course template as the course foundation. Personalize course and supplemental content
  • Facilitate online discussions and student engagement
  • Provide instruction to help students meet course objectives
  • Deliver assessments and maintain records on students’ progress and attainment
  • Regularly monitor the course and meet all program deadlines
  • Respond in a timely manner to students’ and department chairs’ communications
  • Collaborate with the department chair to continually improve course offerings
  • Foster inclusivity and diverse thought
Competencies/KSAs
  • Strong computer and Internet skills
  • Good written communication skills
  • Understanding of adult learning theories and ability to effectively apply this knowledge in an online learning environment
  • Must physically work in the state of Colorado
  • Various equipment to do with field of study
  • Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
Other Qualifications
  • Experience using Desire-2-Learn (Brightspace) learning management system, or other LMS
  • Familiarity with Navigate or other student intervention applications
  • Familiarity with Promethean or other interactive displays
  • Proficiency with Web Ex, Zoom, or other web conference applications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree within one required discipline (Human Nutrition / DIetary Nutrition) and 18 or more graduate hours applicable to at least one other required discipline
  • One to three years of college-level teaching experience in a variety of instructional modalities (in-person, online, and hybrid).
  • One to three years of post-secondary teaching experience in a variety of instructional modalities (in-person, online, and hybrid).
Preferred Qualifications
  • More than three years of college-level teaching experience in a variety of instructional modalities (in-person, online, and hybrid).
  • More than three years of post-secondary teaching experience in a variety of instructional modalities (in-person, online, and hybrid) Doctorate within one required discipline, and 18 or more graduate hours applicable to at least one other required discipline
