About the RoleThe Exceptional Learners Teacher is responsible for developing and providing IDEA mandated modifications and accommodations for students with special needs to gain free and appropriate instruction in the subject area curriculum. Under the direction of the school Principal and Exceptional Learners Coordinator, the Exceptional Learners Teacher provides direct instruction and instructional support to students with exceptional learning needs and collaborates with the general education teacher.
The Exceptional Learners Teacher monitors and evaluates outcomes and assists in developing Individual Education Programs (IEP).
