Overview

We are hiring to support education and student success. California Institute of Applied Technology (CIAT) seeks educators and professionals with a passion for mentoring others. CIAT prepares students for professional success through practical training in technology fields, offering flexible schedules and an online campus to empower working students.

• Teaching: Available to teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams.
• Scheduling: Flexibility to teach in the evenings and weekends based on the course schedule.
• Instructional Design: Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning and engagement; ensure alignment with CIAT’s adult learner framework emphasizing certification readiness; modify methods to meet diverse student needs; employ synchronous online teaching methods (Microsoft Teams).
• Subject Matter Mastery: Maintain current certifications in subjects taught; demonstrate thorough knowledge; connect subject matter with related fields; stay current through professional development and engagement with professional organizations; design and align course materials with college standards for adult learners; select instructional materials aligned with course objectives; keep curriculum up to date; review materials for accuracy and relevance; ensure compliance with accreditation standards for instructional quality and education.
• Policy and Compliance: Adhere to college policies and procedures; maintain accurate student databases for attendance and grade records; comply with accreditation standards; promote collaboration with staff; adhere to CIAT attire policies; maintain FERPA compliance and secure handling of student data.

  Hours:
  
  Variable-hour position. Typically Monday–Friday; weekend hours may be required. Live bootcamp classes may run Monday–Friday or Saturday/Sunday for up to 8 hours per day. Class times to be determined.
• Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Essential functions require sitting for extended periods; ability to type and use a computer while communicating by phone.
• Frequent use of computer, mouse, and telephone; ability to perform basic calculations.
• Work in a home office environment; ensure a safe and ergonomic workspace; maintain data security and use secure connections for all work-related activities.
