Pay Range

Pay Range $62,500 - $65,000

Pay rates at Syracuse University are based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, the job responsibilities; the candidate’s education, training, work experience and key competencies; the university’s strategic priorities; internal peer equity; applicable federal, state, local laws, grant funding and contractual requisites; and external market analyses.

Standard University business hours
8:30am – 5:00pm (academic year)
8:00am – 4:30pm (summer)

Hours may vary based on operational needs.
Evening and weekend hours will be required.

Job Description

The Coordinator will assist in all aspects of academic support services for student-athletes in assigned sports including tutorial support, study table, academic monitoring, academic reporting, keeping coaches informed of academic progress, APR , eligibility concerns, academic advising, and orientations. Maintain knowledge of all NCAA rules and regulations related to academic support and eligibility. Athletic teams are assigned to the Coordinator based on department need, at-risk nature of the student-athletes, academic support requirements while traveling, and profile of incoming freshmen classes.

The Coordinator will also work collaboratively to organize engagement programming for student-athletes, and guide them to engagement opportunities outside the classroom and field of play.

Education and Experience

  • A master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. Preference will be given to those possess experience in academic/student support/development services and/or athletics

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Strong working knowledge of University academic policies and procedures is preferred
  • Ability to manage, evaluate and directive activities of various employees at varying levels
  • Must possess ability work extended hours, meet project deadlines and work under time constraint
