The Health Information Management Program Chair is a full-time hybrid role based in Clarkston, GA, with some flexibility for work from home. This role oversees the academic and administrative operations of the Health Information Management program, including curriculum planning, course scheduling, and alignment with accreditation and regulatory requirements. The Program Chair leads and mentors faculty, supports adjunct and part-time instructors, and ensures high-quality instruction and student support.

Day-to-day responsibilities include teaching selected courses, advising and mentoring students, assessing program outcomes, and implementing continuous improvement strategies. The role also involves collaborating with internal departments and external partners, maintaining strong industry relationships, and participating in college committees and initiatives to advance the program and college mission.

• Demonstrated expertise in Health Information Management, including knowledge of medical coding, health data management, and healthcare regulations.
• Experience with curriculum design, program development, and academic assessment in a postsecondary or similar educational setting.
• Strong leadership, faculty supervision, and team collaboration skills to guide program growth and support instructional quality.
• Proficiency in instructional technology, learning management systems, and hybrid/online teaching methodologies.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to a learner-centered and inclusive environment.
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a closely related field; master’s degree and professional certification (e.g., RHIA, RHIT) is required

• Relevant industry experience in health information, healthcare administration, or a related area, and familiarity with accreditation standards for HIM programs.
• Ability to work on-site in Clarkston, GA, with flexibility for some remote responsibilities, and willingness to engage in college and community outreach activities.
