Assistant Professor (CHS)

The Department of Radiology offers a unique opportunity for a Thoracic Imaging Radiologist to support the Department of Radiology, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health.

The Thoracic Imaging Section interprets chest radiographs and CT scans across the full spectrum of thoracic imaging in a fun, intellectual, and collegial work environment. Members of the thoracic imaging section are actively involved in a variety of national and international professional societies and recognized locally for their clinical skills and passion for teaching.

• Full time is preferred but consideration may be given for an appointment at less than 100 percent.
• This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.
• Protected teaching time is provided daily for trainees and students on service.
• Opportunities for collaborative research and partnerships with industry
• Full home PACS workstations are provided for all after-hours and call duties with opportunities for remote work for some day shifts.
• Fully integrated Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Electronic Health Record (HER), and reporting system with a suite of post-processing and artificial intelligence applications.
• New state-of-the-art reading room and imaging equipment.
• This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law every four years.
• Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles:
  Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS), Clinical Assistant Professor (CT), Clinical Associate Professor (CT) or Clinical Professor (CT). The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

• 80% interpretation and reporting of chest imaging studies including MRI examinations, CT scans and radiographs.
• 20% teaching and scholarly activities.

CHS faculty:
Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

All faculty:
Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

Negotiable, 12 month

• WI Medical license by start date of position
• Board-certified or board eligible by American Board of Radiology (A ) by start date of position.
• Completion of Diagnostic radiology residency training program by start date of position.
• Completion of thoracic radiology fellowship training or equivalent experience is required by start date of position.

CHS/CT:
For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CT or CHS track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT track.
