Job DescriptionServe as an advisor and consultant for a diverse portfolio of Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs), acting as a primary touchpoint for a subset of the University’s 250+ RSOs. Provide guidance, education, and support on university policies, procedures, and best practices to promote RSO compliance, risk management, and organizational success.
Assist with the planning, implementation, and contracting of events and supply orders in support of both RSO activities and departmental programs. Contribute to the execution of large-scale University events including performances, speakers, and student organization programming by providing logistical, operational, financial, and administrative support. Coordinate marketing and promotional efforts in alignment with departmental standards and timelines.
Assist with RSO recognition, re-registration, and roster management processes, and support the delivery of officer, trainings, workshops, constitution development, and maintenance of RSO historical records within the Anthology platform (Cuse Activities). This position requires occasional evening and weekend work to support events and programs.
Education and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, counseling, or related field required. Preferred experience in planning, implementing, and executing student events and programs.
- Ability to plan, implement, and execute a wide range of student organization events, including those requiring contract and financial management.
- Demonstrated, up-to-date knowledge of student affairs, student activities best practices, and a working understanding of student development and leadership development theories.
- Ability to effectively support and collaborate with a diverse student population.
- Experience in event marketing and promotional strategies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a broad range of campus and community stakeholders.
- Prior experience as a student leader or advisor preferred.
- Serve as a consultant to a diverse portfolio of Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs), acting as the primary point of contact for a subset of the University’s 250+ RSOs.
- Support student leaders in the planning and implementation of programs and events, including guidance on event logistics, budgeting, and risk management.
- Provide education on university and governing body policies and procedures to ensure compliance and organizational success.
- Manage approved funding requests, including contracting, purchasing, and expenditure tracking from the Student Activity Fee, to ensure responsible stewardship of funds supporting RSO programs and events.
