West Virginia University’s School of Education and Counseling invites applications for the (Hybrid) Educator Preparation Coordinator role in its Office of Educator Preparation Partnerships & Services (OEPPS).
About The OpportunityThe Educator Preparation Coordinator provides support and leadership to teacher education programs in the School and across the University through—certification policies and procedures, professional development for teacher candidates and mentor teachers, engagement and outreach with partner schools and districts, supervision and support of teacher candidates, and communication and data processes. This role provides service to all teacher education programs across the University, though with a particular focus on the Elementary Education BA program in the School of Education and Counseling.
This hybrid role includes regular time in partner schools alongside on-campus and remote work.

- Wellness programs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for certification-related inquiries and forms related to post-graduation/program completion licensure
- Provide information to students, faculty, staff, and relevant stakeholders across educator preparation programs on topics related to certification and licensure requirements and procedures.
- Process and verify certification applications, transcripts, and supporting documentation for in- and out-of-state licensure.
- Develop and maintain certification tracking systems for all teacher candidates and graduates, monitoring progress toward licensure eligibility.
- Advise students on alternative certification pathways.
- Serve as a liaison to the West Virginia Department of Education on certification policy.
- Organize career readiness, professional development, and networking programming for teacher candidates across all educator preparation programs, in coordination with the Office of Student Success in the College of Applied Human Sciences and other faculty and staff in OEPPS and the School o Education and Counseling
- Support data collection, tracking, and outreach to track completer employment outcomes
- Support and/or lead data collection and discussion with school and district partners (mentor teachers and administrators) on program feedback, candidate feedback, mentor teacher evaluation, and needs assessments from mentor teachers and school/district administrators to inform program improvement, accreditation, and outreach programming
- Collaborate with other OEPPS and School of Education and Counseling faculty and staff to develop resources, workshops, and/or other supports for mentor teacher development, including opportunities for credit-bearing experiences and/or microcredentials.
- Serve as a WVU liaison to multiple assigned partner elementary schools, maintaining regular visits and on-site presence.
