Job Description Summary
Eastern Oregon University invites candidates to apply for a part-time online adjunct position in Political Science/Public Administration to teach up to 1-2 courses per quarter beginning in fall term 2026 which commences on September 28, 2026. The successful candidate will teach online courses in the undergraduate Political Science program with concentration in Public Administration, as well as the Master of Public Administration ( MPA ) degree.
Specifically in Fall Term 2026, the program seeks a colleague with expertise to teach a graduate level course in Non-profit Management ( PADM 543). Other graduate courses may include Legal Issues in Public Administration, Program Evaluation, Political Communication, and/or Intergovernmental Relations. Online courses in the undergraduate program may be available based on need and expertise of the faculty.
All appointments for part-time online educators are made on an as needed basis, and assignments will be term by term. EOU offers courses in 10-week terms, with one week of finals.
This position will remain open until filled with initial application review beginning on August 21, 2026.
ResponsibilitiesOnline educators are responsible for providing a high quality online educational experience in consultation with the program faculty and through supporting the program’s learning outcomes. The program values reflective teaching practice in a community of teacher-scholars who prioritize equity and access in the classroom. Additional responsibilities include development and regular functional use of an LMS course shell (Canvas) that engages students in learning activities, including such elements as active discussion boards, timely assignment feedback, and keeping upgraded grades for students.
