Gifted and Talented Teacher

• Advocate for the gifted/talented program within the school and greater community
• Provide planning, coordination, education, communication, resources, and support to students, parents, educators, administrators, board members, and other stakeholders
• Provide enrichment experiences for gifted/talented students
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide specialized instruction and qualitatively differentiated gifted/talented programs
• Provide resources for teachers working with gifted students
• Promote staff participation in related professional development
• Stay current with research, learning, and resources in the gifted education field
• Attend workshops and conferences as necessary
• Ensure exceptional student education and related services are delivered according to EP team determinations
• Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding student therapies
• Develop compliant EPs, progress reports, and required state‑specific special education documentation
• Facilitate collaborative exceptional student education meetings, including annual EP meetings
• Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward EP goals and objectives
• Document parent and student contacts
• Analyze student data and prescribe enrichment as needed
• Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Personalize learning and maintain high expectations for students
• Maintain the grade book and student academic integrity
• Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
• Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner
• Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual‑classroom troubleshooting issues
• Travel for face‑to‑face professional development, student testing, and school requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Active State Gifted Endorsement on teaching certificate
• Ability to clear the required background check
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations and use them for instructional decisions
• Receptive to regular coaching from administrators
• Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Power Point
• Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
• Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday, typically 9–5 or 8–4 as defined by the school
• Experience working with gifted and talented students
• Experience working with the proposed age group
• Experience supporting adults and children in technology use
• Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment
• Experience with online learning platforms

Demonstrates expertise in gifted education, including the development of compliant Education Plans (EPs) and the ability to analyze student data for personalized learning. Proficient in collaboration with educators and stakeholders to enhance the educational experience for gifted and talented students.
