Broad Scope & FunctionThe position is responsible for recruiting eligible students to the CAMP program by providing one-on-one and group information and assistance concerning higher education enrollment opportunities, policies, and procedures to prospective migrant and under-represented students and their families. The position is responsible for executing all outreach activities and special projects, and for maintaining the case management for outreach.
Reporting RelationshipThe position reports directly to the CAMP Associate Director. The position supervises part-time student assistants.
- Full range: $23.78-$35.68 per hour ($49,471-$74,207 per year)
- Anticipated hiring range: $23.78-$26.76 per hour ($49,471-$55,655 per year)

The selected candidate must furnish proof of eligibility to work in the United States. University Enterprises, Inc. is not a sponsoring agency (i.e. H-1B Visa).
This position is a full-time, non-exempt (eligible for overtime pay), benefited position, with a defined contribution retirement plan through TIAA. (The position is not covered under the California Public Employees’ Retirement System.) Continued employment in this position is dependent upon funding and the mutual consent of University Enterprises and the employee, and either University Enterprises or the employee, can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
Program continuation is contingent upon funding.
- Travels throughout Northern California and makes presentations to students, school personnel, community organizations, parent advisory committees, and community agencies regarding CAMP, EOP, Admission to Sacramento State/A-G, and financial aid.
- Verifies student program eligibility for CAMP, EOP, and Admission to Sacramento State by following up on a day-to-day basis via phone, letters, and emails.
- Conducts campus tours to all prospective students, families, and community organizations.
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with campus programs, academic departments, community agencies, high school counselors, and migrant education personnel.
- Prepares weekly updates to the director(s) regarding admitted CAMP students, as well as documenting outreach events for yearly reports.
- Plans and participates in CAMP Admitted Student Day, CAMP Familia Day, housing workshop, and orientation for all incoming CAMP students.
- Schedules outreach visits, on-campus visits, college fairs, and parent financial aid/admissions workshops.
- Assists prospective students, current CAMP students, and continuing CAMP students with questions regarding course selection, registration date, Financial Aid award letters, scholarships, and community service.
- Explains navigating the Sacramento State Student Center including Holds, Account Balance, and To-Do List.
- Collaborates with other equity programs and departments on campus and off-campus when coordinating events or workshops.
- Leads and conducts student employee/intern training/workshops.
- Supervises program assistants and student interns.
- Covers the front desk when needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of the Behavioral or Social Sciences, Education or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
