After school Site Director (Middle School)

We are seeking an After school Site Director (Middle School) who is responsible for the daily management and oversight of an after-school program. They ensure child safety, supervise staff, manage the site budget, and develop engaging educational and recreational activities. This role acts as the primary liaison between parents, school administration, and program staff. This includes the overall development, supervision, and adherence to program excellence and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations, including attendance tracking, enrollment, and activity schedules.
  • Hire, train, and directly supervise part-time employees and volunteers. Evaluate program staff to ensure that program goals are in alignment grant and funder requirements
  • Provide programmatic, fiscal, and overall compliance oversight related to relevant contracts and funders including but not limited to DYCD, NYCPS, NYS DOE, and ACS
  • Ensure the site complies with all state licensing, health, and safety regulations (e.g., Department of Health or SACC standards)
  • Maintain accurate records for children, staff, incident reports, and emergency procedures
  • Onboard and train staff members to both Partnership with Children and DYCD policies and procedures
  • Act as the primary point of contact for parents and caregivers, addressing concerns and providing updates
  • Work closely with school administration to ensure that after school programming aligns with the needs of the school community, offering a wide range of enrichment programming
  • Develop staff's management and leadership skills including conflict resolution
  • Serve as a guide during crisis situations with children and youth
  • Model, development and maintenance of key collaborative relationships including school principal, school staff and various NYC Department of Education staff engaged at the school and District levels
  • Direct the development of annual workscopes, rosters, schedules, etc. Monitor progress and negotiate changes with stakeholders
  • Ensure administrative records and data collection are timely and high quality, including managing budgets
  • Use data to monitor and improve program quality and make programmatic decisions
  • Be an active participant in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and utilize your knowledge and learning in your work

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, Public Administration, or a closely related field required.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children under the age of 13
  • At least 2 years of supervisory and management experience developing and implementing youth and community development programs, staff training and development
  • Deep knowledge of and experience with after school compliance. Experience with DOE, DYCD, OCFS, and DOH regulations, is essential
  • Exceptional managerial, supervisory and staff development skills
  • Understanding of change management as it relates to organizations and schools; ability to support staff in being change agents
  • Superior engagement, communication and presentation skills with stakeholders including principals and parents
  • Ability to form and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with colleagues, principals and other strategic stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a high autonomy/high accountability environment
  • Ability to adapt; encourage openness, flexibility and creativity in meeting programmatic and regulatory needs
  • Outstanding collaborator and consensus builder
  • Flexible, multi-tasker who can handle multiple priorities
  • Experience working with middle schools

Salary and Benefits:
Salary is $65,000-$75,000- commensurate with credentials and experience.

This position is fully in-person and does not offer any remote work. Must be available to work evenings and Saturdays (as needed); school holidays, and school recesses
