Pay Range $1,483.20 - $1,751 per credit hour
Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

Assessment in Music Education, a 1 credit hour course, during the Fall semester, 2026.
Examines a diverse selection of assessment methods for student learning within music education settings. Strategies for future instruction planning; instructional adaptations based on data gathered through teacher-created assessment tools.

- Master’s degree in music education (Doctorate preferred).
- Evidence of exceptional scholarly writing skills, with ability to edit and assist in the preparation of student work.
- Experience teaching at the collegiate level with non-native speaking students (preferred).
- The candidate should have strong attention to detail, knowledge of course content, demonstrated pedagogical ability, as well as the ability to relate well in a classroom and one-on-one environment with college-level students.
- Preference will be given to applicants who are able to fulfill multiple positions within the Setnor School of Music.
Being present and instructing weekly class meetings during Fall semester as indicated:
- Update a class syllabus.
- Prepare lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
- Present instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
- Meet all designated class periods.
- Submit completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to university regulations.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
- Build a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
