Adjunct Instructor, Life Sciences

Position Summary

The Department of Life Sciences at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences seeks part‑time instructors for Fall 2026, teaching undergraduate General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, General Biology, Microbiology, and Anatomy & Physiology lab courses; undergraduate Biochemistry lecture course; and an online graduate recitation course. Positions run from August 1 to December 31, 2026. Remote work must be from a state where the college is registered to do business.

$4,600 per lecture course and $3,900 per lab course.

• Undergraduate General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, General Biology, Microbiology, and Anatomy & Physiology lab courses
• Undergraduate Biochemistry lecture course
• Online graduate recitation course

• Instruction, course preparation, developing instructional materials, and grading
• Providing weekly office hours to support students

• Commitment to excellence in teaching and student development
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Office 365, One Drive, and Zoom

• Advanced degree or relevant experience in the field of instruction
• Excellent subject knowledge, teaching skill, and prior experience with students bound for graduate or professional schools

Regularly required to sit; use hands; talk or hear; reach, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Requires close vision.

Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

The positions are based in Albany, NY. Duties require consistent in‑person collaboration, except for the online graduate recitation course, which may be delivered remotely. Further details will be discussed during the interview.
