SALARY: Full range: $23.78-$35.68 per hour ($49,471-$74,207 per year);
Anticipated hiring range: $23.78-$26.76 per hour ($49,471-$55,655 per year)

REQUISITION:

The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is a unique educational program at Sacramento State that assists students from migrant and seasonal farm worker backgrounds to succeed in obtaining a college degree. Students receive outreach, admission, academic, and personal support services to ease the transition from high school to Sacramento State. CAMP admits 70 freshmen every year and provides follow-up services to approximately 300 continuing students.

The position is responsible for recruiting eligible students to the CAMP program by providing one‑on‑one and group information and assistance concerning higher education enrollment opportunities, policies, and procedures to prospective migrant and under‑represented students and their families. The position is responsible for executing all outreach activities and special projects, and for maintaining the case management for outreach.

• Outreach & Recruitment:
  Travel throughout Northern California to deliver informative presentations and represent Sacramento State, CAMP, and EOP at schools, college fairs, parent advisory committees, and community agencies and organizations. Conducts campus tours.
• Student Advising & Support:
  Guide prospective and current students through admission eligibility verification, university portals (Student Center), course registration, financial aid, and scholarships.
• Event Planning & Coordination:
  Plan, schedule, and execute large‑scale recruitment and student success events, including Admitted Student Day, Familia Day, workshops, and student orientations, in collaboration with campus equity programs and community partners.
• Program Operations & Supervision:
  Manage day‑to‑day administrative tasks, supervise and train student interns and program assistants, maintain vital community partnerships, and compile weekly and annual reporting data for directors.

• Bachelor’s Degree in one of the Behavioral or Social Sciences, Education or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
• Demonstrated experience working with minority and low‑income students in academic and/or career advisement.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with a variety of people, e.g., students, parents, coworkers, school personnel, faculty, agency personnel.
• Demonstrated skill to work independently with little direction and coordinate many different tasks, determining the importance of each, setting deadlines, and completing projects accordingly.
• Demonstrated general knowledge of the unique cultural traits found in migrant families.
• Excellent presentation skills in a one‑on‑one or group setting.
• Excellent command of the English and Spanish language including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Knowledge in General Education (GE) areas such as GE advising, GE catalog, and graduation requirements.
