Position Highlights:

  • Salary:$90,000-$102,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Professional development:$5,000 annual professional development funds, in addition to conference registration costs.
  • Summer scholarship support:Eligible for faculty summer scholarship stipend for projects consistent with tenure-track requirements, generally $10,000 to $14,000 per year.
  • Hybrid work:One regular work-from-home day per week during the academic year, with ample opportunities for remote work during intersessions and summer.
  • Start date: Preferred January 2027; negotiable

the School of Law Library at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track, Law Library Faculty position with a primary administrative focus on user services with a negotiable start date preferred on January 4, 2027. While appointed to this position, you will accrue vacation and will be required to report leave monthly following TTU’s Operating Policy 70.01 and TTU System Regulation 07.12.

In this position, the Law Library Faculty member will have primary administrative responsibility for instructional services while participating fully in the academic and professional work of the Law Library Faculty.

A. ADMINISTRATIVE
  • Provide strategic and administrative leadership for the Law Library’s user services, working collaboratively with the Associate Dean/Law Library Director, Associate Director, and Law Library Faculty and Staff.
  • Manage user services, including coordinating programs; developing, implementing, and evaluating services; and recommending improvements.
  • Build on existing user services and develop new programs, services, partnerships, and approaches consistent with the Law Library’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Provide administrative leadership for faculty research and scholarship services, including the faculty liaison program, research support workflows, scholarly impact initiatives, publication support, and faculty research programming.
  • Oversee initiatives that increase the visibility and discoverability of faculty scholarship, including publication tracking, faculty scholarship displays and alerts, and collaboration with Law School partners to publicize faculty work.
  • Lead student engagement initiatives in collaboration with the Office of Student Life, student organizations, and other Law School partners.
  • Lead the Law Library’s user engagement services, developing strategies to engage students, faculty, and other Law School constituencies and increase awareness and use of Law Library expertise, resources, programs, and services.
  • Lead assessment of Law Library user services, including developing assessment instruments, analyzing service data and user feedback, identifying trends and unmet needs, and using findings to recommend service improvements.
  • Oversee Law Library social media and other outreach in accordance with Law Library and University policies.
