Learning Managers

Cengage empowers users to build rewarding careers with tailored learning experiences that link existing skills to necessary skills. Learning Managers (LMs) demonstrate their knowledge and experience in student and instructor needs, learning science, and curriculum development to enable the content strategy for their focus areas. Using an agile and strategic approach, market-based insights, and instructional design methodologies, LMs recommend and implement improvements to higher-education course materials and career-training curricula.

LMs collaborate with a wide range of team members including editorial managers, program associates, content project managers, researchers, product marketing managers, authors/content creators, external vendors, and more. Our LMs are curious, tenacious, dedicated to sharing ideas, and committed to questioning the status quo in learning.

  • Collaborate with authors/subject matter experts/industry partners and team members throughout the curriculum development process, seeking out varied perspectives and expertise.
  • Establish and maintain field tools and guidelines for field content creation/creators.
  • Support freelance and vendor content creators as necessary to ensure content quality and timely delivery. Develop new authoring talent for the field and learning needs and understanding of digital product and use of authoring tools.
  • Apply emerging learning trends and discipline-specific guidelines to continuously innovate and improve learning designs. Stay current with EdTech and subject area trends, key competitive developments, learning science research, and content design standards.
