Job SummaryThe Remote Coordinator for Academic Affairs and External Partnerships supports the School of Construction and Design by advancing academic coordination, recruitment and retention initiatives, accreditation support efforts, and external partnerships. The position serves as an overarching academic support and quality assurance role, helping maintain consistency, communication, and strong performance across all program areas within the School. The position also provides support for accreditation activities, including assistance with ABET-related assessment, documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement processes.
PrimaryDuties and Responsibilities
- Recruitment and Retention:
Develop and assist with implementation of effective recruitment and retention strategies aimed at increasing enrollment and supporting student success, particularly within online and technology-based programs. Coordinate virtual engagement activities with current and prospective students, conduct regular communication with adjunct faculty, and support alignment through syllabus reviews and coordination between adjunct and full-time faculty. - Academic Coordination and Program Support:
Assist program coordinators andthe Director with academic coordination activities, including communication with faculty, students, and external stakeholders. Help ensure consistency in program operations, instructional delivery, and student support practices across the School. - Accreditation and Continuous Improvement Support:
Assist with accreditation-related activities, including ABET assessment processes,data collection, documentation management, preparation of reports,coordination of supporting materials, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support faculty and administration in maintaining organized accreditation records and timelines. - Outreach and Engagement:
Build and sustain positive relationships with external stakeholders, including high school teachers, counselors,community colleges, alumni, and industry partners. Organize and participate in virtual outreach activities, classroom visits, and campus engagement opportunities for prospective students. - Reporting and
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Director, program coordinators, academic advisor, and other School personnel to ensure effective communication, alignment of program activities, and implementation of School-level goals and initiatives. Provide regular updates and recommendations regarding opportunities for improvement and operational effectiveness. - Perform other duties as assigned
A graduate degree in construction, architecture, or a relevant field.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Demonstrated experience in academic program coordination, higher education administration, or related areas.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently in a remote work environment.
- Experience working with accreditation processes, assessment activities, or continuous improvement initiatives, preferably related to ABET or similar accreditation systems.
- Familiarity with curriculum coordination, academic policies, and student support practices in higher education.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, community college partners, and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, professionalism, discretion, and initiative.
- Previous experience supporting online or hybrid academic programs is preferred.
Prior experience as a program coordinator or in a similar academic leadership/support role is preferred.
