Position Summary

This remote, full‑time position is open to candidates residing in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho. Certified Middle School Math Teacher will manage instructional programs and consult regularly with caretakers, learning coaches, and students to ensure each student successfully completes their instructional program.

Responsibilities
  • Homeroom Roles:
    • Host a homeroom of students, acting as a role model and mentor throughout the school year.
    • Host weekly homeroom Live Lessons.
    • Support students and families through key cycle tasks (Welcome Calls, Intent to Return, monthly WSLP Progress Checks).
    • Encourage student engagement in lessons and Live Lessons.
    • Welcome new homeroom students and families within the first week of enrollment.
    • Frequently check in with students and families regarding academics and promotion, especially if off‑track.
  • Content Roles:
    • Supplement asynchronous content by delivering at least one synchronous Live Lesson per course each week, or a combination of a synchronous Live Lesson and office hours.
    • Operate within the school’s MTSS model; provide Tier 1 differentiated instruction and, with a team, develop and implement Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
    • Grade all submitted assignments within 8 days, providing clear feedback.
    • Review curriculum and devise alternate lesson approaches to increase understanding.
    • Develop comprehensive knowledge of the K‑8 curriculum and detailed knowledge of the courses taught.
    • Support students and caretakers with alternate lessons, assessments, and strategies.
    • Consult with instructional staff and learning specialists to develop enrichment activities and modifications.
  • Contact Roles:
    • Communicate regularly with caretakers, students, and instructional staff via computer and telephone.
    • Meet each content area student individually at least once each semester to discuss progress and needs.
    • Log all contacts within 24 hours.
    • Meet weekly student contact requirements set by school, division, and PVS leadership.
  • Community Roles:
    • Coordinate and attend social activities and relevant field trips for students and families.
    • Devise and implement virtual methods to maintain a school community.
    • Participate in state testing, including proctoring WIDA/SBAC/WCAS tests.
    • Participate in student recruiting sessions and marketing efforts requiring staff representation.
  • Behind‑The‑Scenes Roles:
    • Collaborate on IEP and 504 teams, provide progress insights and goal feedback.
    • Work within professional learning communities to review data and improve instruction.
    • Work with Advisory Teachers and Counselors to ensure communication and progress.
    • Attend in‑person training sessions and team‑building activities.
    • Report critical incidents per law or ethical standards.
    • Participate in professional development and training, including SEL and DEI.
    • Complete duties of assigned career ladder positions (e.g., Attendance Rep).
    • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Washington teacher certification in K‑8 Elementary Education or Mathematics.
  • Residence in Washington preferred.
  • Team player, highly flexible, able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom, Nearpod, data tools).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time‑management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive work and school environment supporting diversity.
  • Student‑ and family‑focused approach, culturally responsive classroom.
  • Ability to travel for one or two weeks at a time, including overnight travel for events.
  • Must be able to use a personal device and email for 2‑step authentication.

Salary based on experience and education: $44,500 per year.
