As our Family and Community Engagement Specialist, you’ll serve as the bridge connecting LLCC with families, schools, and community organizations across our district. You’ll build meaningful relationships that expand educational opportunities, support student success, and help students and their support networks feel welcomed and connected throughout their college journey.

Working collaboratively with colleagues and community partners, you’ll develop innovative outreach strategies, strengthen pathways to higher education, and champion equitable access to education for learners of all ages. Starting salary is likely to be between $53,027 and $62,004 per year with an excellent benefits package.

• 23 paid holidays a year, including 2 weeks at the end of the calendar year and one week in March for mid-semester break;

• Bachelor’s degree OR extensive, relevant experience OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Experience in recruitment, education, counseling, outreach, or community engagement.
• Demonstrated experience planning and facilitating presentations, workshops, recruitment or outreach events, and community outreach initiatives.

• Experience developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with schools, community organizations, and external stakeholders.
• Two to three years experience in higher education recruitment, admissions, student services, K-12 partnerships, community engagement, family engagement, outreach, counseling, public relations or a related field.
• Experience utilizing a customer relationship management (CRM) system, such as Salesforce, to document outreach activities, manage communications, and evaluate recruitment outcomes.
• Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Illinois community colleges, financial aid processes, career and technical education pathways, dual credit programs, and workforce development initiatives.
• Training or professional development in family and community engagement, college access and success, Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM), culturally responsive outreach and recruitment practices, student development, public speaking, event planning, project management, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.

• Develop, implement, and lead a district-wide parent, family, and community engagement strategy that creates sustainable enrollment pipelines beginning in grades 7-8.
• Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote college awareness and career exploration.
• Coordinate outreach activities, presentations, family engagement programs, and special events that increase educational attainment, foster meaningful relationships with prospective students and their families, and advance LLCC’s strategic enrollment goals.
