Job Description
Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA) is a K12 partner that provides an online, personalized education experience for students in grades 9‑12. This full‑time remote position requires an Ohio Special Education License and focuses on delivering individualized instruction, developing IEPs, and collaborating with general education teachers and related services.

Eligibility and Requirements- State of Ohio Special Education License (mandatory)
- Ohio resident preferred; candidates from surrounding states within 100 miles of the Ohio border will be considered
- Must be able to meet travel requirements and obtain Ohio certification
- Modify and adapt the K12 curriculum in alignment with state content standards to meet each student's unique needs
- Write and maintain compliant IEPs for students with special needs
- Collaborate with general‑education teachers and related services team to meet student goals
- Educate parents on instructional strategies
- Prepare required documentation
- Proctor achievement and alternative assessments as needed
- Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Work independently without direct supervision
- Flexible schedule; travel up to 20% of the time
- Pass required background check
Required Qualifications
- State of Ohio Special Education License
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web tools
- Minimum 1 year of classroom experience
- Master’s Degree with emphasis in Special Education
- At least 3 years of classroom experience in Special Education
- Home office noise level is moderate (computers, printers, household appliances, and distractions)
- Meeting locations throughout the state are also moderate
