Job Description:

We are seeking a Part-Time Grading Teacher Certified in Mathematics to support our full-time teaching staff in educating students in a virtual learning environment. As a Grading Teacher, you will play an integral role in grading student work and providing timely, constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience. This position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student’s academic development while working as an independent contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create a Positive Learning Environment:
• Cultivate a positive and encouraging atmosphere for students, fostering a love for learning and active engagement.
• Identify and Provide Additional Support:
• Collaborate with students to identify areas requiring additional support and provide targeted instruction and assistance to help students improve in those areas.
• Grading and Feedback:
• Grade and meticulously track completed online tasks and test scores, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Use your content knowledge and experience to evaluate students’ work submissions
• Provide thoughtful and constructive feedback on student work, adhering to a 72-hour grading turn-around time.

• Technical Proficiency:
• Demonstrated computer skills in online education, including familiarity with virtual learning platforms and related tools.
• Ability to swiftly learn and adapt to new technology skills to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
• Communication and Persuasion:
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information and instructions to students, fostering a clear understanding of the coursework.
• Persuasive skills to motivate and encourage students to complete assignments, promoting proactive participation.
• Ability to set and maintain high expectations related to student performance, inspiring students to strive for academic excellence.
• Professionalism:
• Professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with students, colleagues, and stakeholders, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate in Mathematics multiple certifications are a plus.
• Previous experience in grading and providing feedback in a virtual environment is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high-quality grading standards.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a remote setting.
• Tech-savvy and proficient in using online learning platforms and digital tools.

Schedule:

This is a contract position with flexible hours, allowing you to create a work schedule that accommodates your commitments. This offers the freedom to work remotely, providing convenience and work-life balance while maintaining the required 72-hour grading turnaround time. Hours are determined by contractor and student enrollment in the courses and may vary throughout the year and from year to year.
