Primary Purpose of Organizational UnitStudent Affairs at the Gillings School of Global Public Health provides an array of services and resources to prospective, admitted and current students. We aim to enhance student development by providing a supportive and safe environment in which you can achieve academic, social and professional success.
We coordinate major school wide programs such as orientations, a student activities fair, a career and internship fair and professional development workshops. We work to recruit excellent students; coordinate diversity outreach programs to expose high school, undergraduate students and professionals to the field of public health; and offer career services for current students and recent alumni.
Position SummaryThe UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health seeks candidate(s) to review applications for the MPH , BSPH and other degree programs. Selected candidate(s) will attend trainings in November 2026, participate in regular admissions committee meetings, and review approximately 20 applications per week from December 2026 – February 2027. The goal of this position is to help the Admissions Committee make a more informed decision regarding potential applicants for programs.
The reviewer will complete a detailed evaluation form for each applicant and provide recommendations to the Admissions Committee based on the applicant’s qualifications. This position is likely to be based in a tele-working environment (i.e. home office). Anyone who has been appointed to serve on a current Gillings admissions committee is ineligible to be hired as a seasonal reviewer.
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Management Preferences- Coursework in public health, education, or related field
- Experience with graduate admissions
- Experience with MS Teams, Web Admit/ SOPHAS , or other application software
