Work Schedule SummaryAble to work two evenings per week and approximately two Saturdays per semester. A schedule will be developed to align with both parties’ needs, with occasional adjustments to support student-facing events.
This position is fully on-site and is not eligible for hybrid or remote work arrangements. As an essential campus role, the employee is required to work in person at the University of Utah to directly support students, colleagues, departmental operations, events, and other business needs.

The David Eccles School of Business is seeking a part-time Career Advancement Coach to deliver, maintain, and further develop an existing comprehensive and innovative Career Advancement program. The target audience is students in the three working professional MBA programs (Executive MBA weekend, Professional MBA evening, and MBA Online), with an emphasis on the PMBA and MBAO populations.
This role includes providing individualized career coaching and collaborating with MBA teams to support professional development, career advancement, job searches, and entrepreneurship. The Career Advancement Coach will help students clarify career goals, identify actionable next steps, navigate career transitions, and make effective use of available career resources and opportunities.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of career coaching and career paths, as well as extensive knowledge of the employment market and corporate hiring practices. This individual will also collaborate with the Employer Relations team to increase employment opportunities for students and to promote networking and recruiting.
ResponsibilitiesPartner with the full‑time Career Advancement Manager to understand current processes, benchmarks, resources, programming, and the evolving needs of students.
Proactively develop relationships with current PMBA and MBAOstudents to engage them in Career Advancement Services, provide individualized career coaching, and support progress toward career goals.
Conduct one-on-one career coaching sessions to help students clarify career goals, identify next steps, navigate career transitions, and develop actionable career advancement or job‑search strategies.
Introduce coaching and support students in getting started, sharing key career benchmarks, resources, and individualized guidance based on their goals and career stage.
Coach students on career development topics including resume and Linked In strategy, networking, interviewing, job‑search strategy, career advancement, and professional positioning.
Proactively communicate and engage with students to share the value of Career Advancement Services and career coaching through various media, including webinars and presentations, Canvas program courses, program brochures, student information emails, and other communication channels.
Collaborate with MBA program teams and Employer Relations colleagues to connect students with relevant career development, networking, and recruiting opportunities.
