Position summary

Provides operational leadership for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of online programs across Global Campus, overseeing the technical, instructional, and support infrastructure that enables online program delivery. Serves as the Dean's principal operational partner for online delivery,

Duties and responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of online course delivery across Global Campus-managed programs
  • Manage LMS (Learning Hub/Moodle) standardization and course quality processes
  • Coordinate adjunct hiring process, onboarding, performance oversight, and compensation processing for Global Campus-managed courses and programs; hiring decisions rest with academic departments under Associate Dean oversight
  • Serve as operational lead for mid-cycle and off-cycle program launches
  • Direct the Center for Digital Learning and Instructional Technology (DLiT) and its staff
  • Set standards for course design, instructional technology adoption, and faculty development for online teaching
  • Ensure accessibility (ADA/WCAG) compliance across instructional platforms and tools, including Moodle, Zoom, and Yu Ja
  • Coordinate instructional content accessibility standards (e.g., captioning, alt text, document formatting) with faculty and instructional designers
  • Evaluate and integrate new educational technology tools
  • Support operational execution of Acadeum course-sharing initiatives
  • Coordinate with departments on the delivery-partnership model for sourced and shared courses; curriculum authority remains with academic departments
  • Track online program performance metrics, including enrollment, retention, course quality, and faculty load
  • Provide operational data to support the Dean's strategic planning and board or accreditation reporting
  • Manages the Online Higher Education budget and the Center for Digital Learning and Instructional Technology (DLiT) budget
Supervisory responsibilities

Directly supervises DLiT staff, including the Learning Systems Administrator and Instructional Designers, and student workers supporting online course preparation

Qualifications
  • Master's degree required
  • Demonstrated experience in online or distance education operations, instructional design, or ed-tech leadership
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills
  • Understanding of instructional design and instructional technology.
  • Superior critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Curiosity about and commitment to learning cutting edge technologies for support of online, blended, and digital education
  • Knowledge of online course development standards and procedures
  • Absolute dedication to on-going client communication, providing frequent updates on deliverables, milestones, known issues and timelines
  • Excellent people skills, with a passion for customer service
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced technical environment with tight deadlines

Technical competencies
  • Experience with LMS administration and CRM/SIS systems (Banner, Moodle, or equivalents)
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in using current technologies for education such as but not limited to video recording and editing, Google Drive, conferencing software, and other emerging tools to support blended and online learning
  • Quick learner, specifically as it relates to computers and computer applications
Interpersonal interactions

Regularly interacts with DLiT staff, academic department chairs, faculty, and the Associate Dean to coordinate course delivery, technology standards, and adjunct hiring processes.

Represents Global Campus in interactions with the CIO, IT staff, and external technology and course-sharing partners, requiring diplomacy in resolving competing priorities and clear communication across academic and technical audiences.
