Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $65,000.00 Annually
POSITION SUMMARYThe University of Providence seeks an accomplished academic faculty member to teach in the Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling within the School of Health Professions (SHP). Reporting to the program director, the Chair will be part of the program’s leadership team. Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses, evaluating program effectiveness, advising and mentoring students, developing programs and courses, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
Additional duties include recruiting students and representing the SHP on university-wide committees and teams.
This is a remote position; however, preference will be given to candidates within commuting distance of Great Falls, MT
RESPONSIBILITIESFaculty Role:
- Fulfill academic faculty obligations: 60% teaching, 20% scholarship, 15% service, 5% development, or as negotiated with the Dean.
- Recruit and advise graduate counseling students; supervise master-level interns in practicum and internship settings.
- Contribute to program assessment and development.
- Provide service to the program, the University, the profession, and the community.
- Develop and maintain relations with area counseling agencies, associations, and licensure boards.
Leadership:
- Representation and Advocacy:
Effectively and ethically represent the program’s goals, strategies, and interests to the university internally and externally. - Program Development and Improvement:
Contribute to developing, reviewing, and revising the program by incorporating best practices, research, performance needs assessments, and training evaluations to maintain contemporary and relevant clinical counseling education. - Program Evaluation:
Participate in systematic program evaluation and assessment activities to ensure continuous quality improvement and compliance with accreditation standards (CACREP). - Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to foster interprofessional education and practice opportunities.
- Diversity and Inclusion:
Support diversity and inclusion, fostering a positive work environment that promotes interpersonal relationships, effective communication, collaboration, and consensus building. - Shared Governance:
Collaborate with relevant school and university shared governance committees on matters related to academic, curricular, student, and faculty affairs. - Team
Collaboration:
Perform all duties in a manner that promotes effective team collaboration and reflects the University and Providence’s mission and philosophy.

- Ensure a positive and quality experience from recruitment and admissions through graduation.
- Support efforts for student recruitment, retention, and success.
- Address student concerns and grievances in a timely and effective manner.
Policy, Accreditation, Compliance, and Quality Assurance:
- Participate in preparing internal and external administrative reports related to the program, including self-study and site visit preparations for accreditation.
Community Engagement:
- Establish and maintain partnerships with healthcare organizations to provide quality clinical experiences for students.
- Represent the program at professional conferences and community events.
Professional Development:
- Maintain current knowledge of higher education, health professions, and clinical counseling by attending state and national conferences and participating in other professional development activities to ensure the university’s programs remain robust, current,…
