Pay Range

Pay Range $21.98 - $22.12

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Belonging & Student Success, the Program Coordinator helps to create an inclusive, accessible, and welcoming campus community. The Program Coordinator will develop programs and workshops that support student success and belonging. They will also promote disability culture, accessibility, and inclusive community building.

The Program Coordinator organizes small and large-scale programs and events, manages daily administrative operational tasks, and facilitates mentor and allyship-development workshops. Essential elements of this position are understanding and supporting disabled students’ sense of belonging and identity formation in their intersecting identities. The Program Coordinator partners with coordinators and staff members to deliver intersectional programming and events to the Syracuse University campus community.

Skills

and Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of disability content and demonstrated experience working with disabled individuals with an intersectional lens that includes race, ethnicity, class, gender, and sexuality to name a few.
  • Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills as well as an ability to manage concurrent tasks when needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and communication skills, with experience in facilitating workshops required.
  • Program and event planning experience required ’ Budget experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency using social media with an understanding of how to create accessible content Knowledge of web design platforms in emerging technologies beneficial.
  • Experience relevant to working with diverse student populations.
Responsibilities Program/Event Planning, Coordination, and Facilitation
  • Create workshops, celebrations, and programs that celebrate disability culture and foster belonging
  • Plan events including, but not limited to, student welcome events, disability pride week events, and other events promoting disability identity
  • Coordinate contracts for speakers and various programmatic details
  • Arrange and manage logistical elements for mentoring programs, affinity groups, and workshops
  • Facilitate workshops in collaboration with IC Centers, the Barnes Center Health Promotion Office, and other allyship development and educational outreach with campus and community partners
  • Supervise student interns or volunteers, if applicable
  • Track attendance and participant feedback for events and programs
  • Provide support to student organizations for program planning, logistics, and evaluation
