Job SummaryHoly Rosary School is seeking a caring, dependable, and responsible Substitute Teacher to provide classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The Substitute Teacher supports the mission of Catholic education by maintaining a safe, respectful, and faith-filled learning environment while ensuring continuity of instruction and classroom management.
The Substitute Teacher is responsible for following lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, supervising students, maintaining classroom order, and supporting student learning and engagement throughout the school day. The ideal candidate demonstrates flexibility, professionalism, patience, and a genuine interest in working with children in a Catholic school setting.
Job Responsibilities- Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the classroom teacher
- Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and other school areas as assigned
- Maintain a positive, orderly, and respectful classroom environment
- Encourage appropriate student behavior consistent with school expectations and Catholic values
- Take attendance and complete any required classroom records or reports
- Communicate effectively with school administration and staff regarding classroom needs or concerns
- Adapt to varying grade levels, subject areas, and classroom routines as needed
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students, staff, and school matters
Follow all diocesan, school, and emergency procedures and policies
Job Requirements- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
- Ability to follow written lesson plans and directions
- Dependable, flexible, and professional demeanor
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff
- Practicing Catholic preferred but not required
Must complete required background checks and Safe Environment training in accordance with diocesan policies
