Brief Summary OfJob Duties
The Viva el Arte de Santa Barbara Program Coordinator provides part‑time administrative, logistical, and community engagement support for UCSB Arts & Lectures' Viva el Arte de Santa Barbara initiative. This position helps ensure the successful planning and implementation of free, high-quality performances and educational activities that celebrate the richness and diversity of Latine arts and cultures throughout Santa Barbara County. Working collaboratively with Arts & Lectures staff, community partners, artists, and volunteers, the Coordinator serves as an ambassador for the Viva program and supports all aspects of event preparation, artist hospitality, community communications, volunteer coordination, and post-event documentation.
This is a limited appointment position requiring a flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings and weekends during program activities.
- High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- 1-3 years:
Demonstrated experience coordinating community programs, events, educational activities, or similar initiatives. - Experience working with diverse communities and populations.
- Experience in arts administration, cultural programming, nonprofit organizations, or higher education
- Satisfactory criminal history background check
