Hampton University’s Department of Literatures, Languages, and Filmis seeking an adjunct instructor for online, asynchronous coursesof FRE 101:
Elementary French I, FRE 201:
Intermediate French I,and FRE 301:
Advanced Oral and Written Expression I to be deliveredvia HU Global’s Fall Session II.
Per the Academic Catalog:
FRE 101 is an Introductory course designed to develop the fourskills listening, speaking,
reading and writing. Oral proficiency and communicative competenceare stressed.
FRE 201 is the continued development of listening, speaking,reading and writing skills.
Includes reading of authentic French, Quebecois and African texts.(Prerequisite: FRE 102 or the equivalent.)
FRE 301 focuses on intensive practice in speaking. Review and further analysis of grammatical
structures and idiomatic expressions. (Prerequisite: FRE 202 or the equivalent.)
HU Global’s Fall Session II runs from Monday, October 12 (first dayof class) through Tuesday, December 8 (last set of gradesdue).
RequirementsQualified candidates should have a graduate degree (doctorate preferred) in French, or related field from an accredited university. Experience in and evidence of successful teaching in auniversity setting is preferred.
Candidates without a Master’sdegree in French or a related field can possess a master’s degreein any field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in French orthe related field.
