Middle School Social Studies Teacher

Deliver specific middle school social studies course content in an online environment
Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery
Monitor student progress through Stride K12's learning management system
Maintain the grade book and make student placement and promotion decisions
Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and parents/learning coaches
Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues
Travel approximately once per month and/or 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, and school requirements

• South Carolina Department of Education Middle School (5-8) Social Studies Teaching Certification required
• Must reside in South Carolina
• Bachelor's degree
• Active state teaching license
• Ability to clear required background check
• Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
• Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Power Point

Demonstrates expertise in delivering middle school social studies content in an online environment, utilizing K12 systems and personalized instruction to enhance student learning and engagement. Maintains effective communication with students, parents, and learning coaches while ensuring compliance with state teaching requirements.
