Part-Time Program Assistant

Roots and Wings is seeking a part-time Program Assistant to support Project UpLift, our free after-school literacy program serving students at 24 Title I public elementary schools throughout Palm Beach County.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in school settings and wants to help children become stronger, more confident readers.

Monday through Thursday, approximately 2:00–4:00 P.M. We will also pay for 45 minutes of travel time per day to and from schools, with the remaining hour of each week being a meeting with Roots and Wings staff.
12 hours per week total.

This Program Assistant will primarily visit five of our partner schools located in the North Region of Palm Beach County:
Jupiter Elementary, Allamanda Elementary, Dwight

D. Eisenhower K-8, Palm Beach Gardens Elementary, and Lake Park Elementary.

• Visit Project UpLift classrooms to observe instruction and encourage students
• Assist with Buddy Books implementation
• Provide feedback to Roots and Wings to help maintain high-quality programming
• Collaborate with the Roots and Wings team to support program goals

• Most importantly, enthusiasm for our mission and helping children succeed
• Background in education preferred, but not required
• Experience with children or in school settings is a plus
• Strong communication and observational skills
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between schools

Roots and Wings is the largest free after-school literacy initiative in Palm Beach County, currently serving four Title One public elementary schools in PBC.
