Parents As Teachers Educator

The Hallsville District, a four-day calendar school, isaccepting applications for a Parents as Teachers Educator. We provide employees with paid health benefits and life insurance options.

The Parents as Teachers (PAT) Educator is responsible for providing home-based visits and group activities that promote early childhood development and strengthen families.

• Provide in-home visits to families, working directly with parents or caregivers to support early childhood development (birth to age
  5).
• Conduct group connections and parent education sessions to promote positive parenting practices, child development milestones, and early childhood education.
• Develop individualized plans for each family based on the child's developmental needs, family needs, and any specific concerns raised by parents or caregivers.
• Create and provide resources and materials to parents, helping them engage in activities that support learning, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Monitor and assess the child's progress and development, adjusting strategies and activities to meet evolving needs.
• Maintain accurate records of home visits, progress assessments, and family interactions, including attendance and communication logs.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress, concerns, and available community resources.
• Maintain consistent, ongoing communication with building principals and teachers regarding upcoming students.
• Provide referrals to community services and agencies as needed, including health care, nutrition, and social services.
• Participate in professional development activities to stay current on best practices in early childhood education and family support.
• Collaborate with local agencies and other professionals to provide holistic support to families.
• Ensure confidentiality of all client and family information in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Report suspected abuse, neglect, or any signs of discrimination or harassment as mandated by program policy and law.
• Assist in organizing and implementing family engagement events
  , playgroups, and educational activities.
• Support the implementation of PBIS strategies to promote positive behavior and a safe, respectful learning environment for students.

Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree;
Missouri teacher certificate in Music Education
