Pay Range $2,084.07 - $2,146.59 per credit hour

Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

The School of Education seeks Part-Time Faculty to teach EDU 516
Equitable Assessment for Inclusive Classrooms (3 Credits)

Exploration of equitable, inclusive, and antiracist perspectives on assessment. Use of formal and informal approaches to document growth for students with and without disabilities, evaluate instructional effectiveness, and adjust curriculum and instruction.

• Masters Degree, Ph.D. preferred.

• Earned master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field, with knowledge of equitable, inclusive, and antiracist approaches to assessment.
• Experience using formal and informal assessment methods to document growth for students with and without disabilities.
• Prior teaching experience in P-12 or higher education settings preferred, along with familiarity with adjusting curriculum and instruction based on assessment data.

• Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
• Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
• Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments.
• Meeting all designated class periods. If you are unable to meet your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to move to a synchronous or asynchronous option. You must also notify the faculty director, graduate studies of your absence and of your plan to cover the class.
• Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
• Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
• Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner.
• Collect and submit student assessment data for accreditation purposes, if applicable.
• Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
• Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
