The MSW Program offers a specialized practice concentration inhealth care and social work, with opportunities for students tofocus further in health-related and behavioral health areas. The curriculum follows the competency-based education model of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and integratesinter-professional and simulation lab training activities.

The accelerated hybrid program includes a sixteen (16) monthaccelerated sequence for students with any bachelor's degree exceptfor social work and a twelve (12) month advanced standing optionfor students with a bachelor's degree in social work.

The MSW Field Coordinator faculty at the University of the Pacificis responsible for providing all aspects of didactic and clinical education for the Program and participating in cross-teachingactivities within the School of Health Sciences, emphasizing Field Education.

Familiarity with field-related aspects of CSWE accreditation standards preferred.

Scholarship activities are valued at the University of the Pacific and are incorporated into all faculty roles.

This position is intended to support field education activities andagency partnerships in Southern California, with a primary focus onthe Los Angeles region. Candidates must reside in or be able to regularly travel throughout the Southern California/Los Angeles area to fulfill field education responsibilities.

• Assistance and management of all assigned aspects of fieldeducation programming for the MSW program.
• Participation in the CSWE accreditation process, in conjunction with leadership for the field education components of the process.
• Participation in curriculum development, with leadership withinthe field education components of the curriculum, including effective linkages between field education and the didacticcurriculum.
• Participation in department meetings, college, and university committees.
• Academic duties include academic advising and career mentoring,classroom teaching, and participation in course assignments in ateam-teaching environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Provide assistance in the recruitment, development, and approval of internship sites locally and across the state of California for hybrid and/or online tracks.
• Collaborating with agencies to build partnerships, respond to changing needs, and resolve concerns or problems under the leadership of the Field Director.
• Participate in the assignment of faculty and students to field classes.
• Coaching and mentoring field education faculty and students,including organizing and overseeing professional mentoring activities for students.
• Utilizing and maintaining program and student data ininternship tracking software.
• Providing advising support for students in conjunction with internship issues.
• Responding to student and/or agency emergency needs in a timely manner.
• Teach field seminars and courses in the MSW Program.
• Participation in the CSWE accreditation process.

Thus, collaborative projects with community organizations and public agencies, within the MSW program, and with other health sciences or other programs in the University will be encouraged.

Service is expected to the Program, the University, the community and the MSW profession. This may include committee work and otheractivities such as participation in faculty development activities,student-faculty functions, and in graduation and convocationceremonies.

Workload varies by trimester, but is assigned by the Program Director in consultation with the Director of Field Education.

Emphasis is placed on balancing the academic requirements teaching,scholarship, and service over the course of each year. The specificworkload and scheduling will be adjusted based on the needs of the faculty members and the program.

This is a non-tenure track position. The initial academic rank of Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor will be determined by the promotion and tenure committee, based upon the individual'squalifications and experience.
