Oil and Gas Inspector

This position focuses on field inspections, compliance monitoring, and investigation of oil and gas operations across an assigned geographic area. You will ensure that wells, reservoirs, and related activities follow state laws and regulations that protect safety, public health, and the environment. As an Oil and Gas Inspector, you will perform the following duties:
- Safety Compliance: Follow departmental safety policies and conduct gas migration checks when conditions indicate possible hazards
- Field Inspections: Inspect wells throughout all operational phases and document conditions with reports, photographs, and required system entries
- Storage Reviews: Evaluate gas storage reservoirs and related equipment to confirm safe pressures and structural integrity
- Complaint Response: Investigate concerns about oil and gas activities, determine ownership issues, and recommend actions for abandoned wells
- Record Maintenance: Keep detailed files, prepare required reports, and manage inventories and documentation according to policy
- Regulation Enforcement: Identify violations, recommend corrective actions, prepare notices, and provide testimony when required

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Meadville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
Additional details may be provided during the interview. - Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $60,538 (before taxes).

Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry; or
- An associate's degree in Petroleum Technology or closely related field, and one year of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
