Senior Roadway Project Manager
Join us at Stantec to manage roadway design projects in Atlanta, GA. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in design and management of roadway improvement projects, preferably in Georgia.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Client liaison with Georgia DOT, Metro Atlanta cities, counties, CIDs, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify and track potential projects and teaming opportunities for conventional design, Design‑Build, and P3 procurement.
- Lead pursuit of opportunities including pipeline database population, client meeting organization, teaming relationships, SOQ/proposal preparation, and interview/presentation leadership.
- Collaborate with marketing team and business development managers.
- Support development of value proposition and win theme through regular client meetings.
- Provide technical oversight of proposal process, including scope, fee, and schedule negotiations.
- Identify key teaming partners and develop overall project delivery team with other disciplines and geographies.
- Commit to leadership roles in professional societies such as ACEC, ASHE, ITE.
- Participate in external marketing initiatives (conferences, presentations, recruiting, training).
- Lead future roadway design projects as Project Manager and key team leader.
- Coordinate with design teams, subconsultants, vendors to keep projects on schedule and budget.
- Lead efforts to improve QA/QC processes and foster cost‑effective culture.
- Assist with formal project reviews to mitigate risks.
- Foster safety culture, using RMS forms and procedures.
- Recruit, hire, and supervise roadway design staff; provide mentorship and performance support.
- Encourage collaboration and cross‑training across regional offices.
- Provide technical involvement and design decisions.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Georgia PE registration.
- Experience with road/transport project management, design‑build, and P3 procurement.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work and out‑of‑office meetings/travel. Work from home two days a week and in office three days minimum.
