Senior Water System Engineer

Responsibilities- Develop hydraulic models of water distribution systems.
- Lead preparation of water system master plans.
- Evaluation and design of potable water facilities.
- Manage water distribution system study and design projects.
- Lead a team of project engineers and technical support staff.
- Permitting with local, state, and federal permitting agencies.
- Perform quality control reviews of water models, reports, and/or design.
- Preparation of plans and specifications for construction.
- Represent Baxter & Woodman at municipal meetings.
- Preparation of competitive proposals and participation in interviews.
- Develop business in the Chicagoland area.
- 4-year B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
- Illinois P.E. License required (or the ability to obtain through reciprocity).
- 6+ years of experience in potable water system analysis and design.
- Expertise in potable water hydraulic modeling, including master planning.
- Expertise with Water
GEMs and Info Water Pro, plus ArcGIS. - Knowledge of basic principles of water system design and plan preparation.
- Experience in consulting engineering, public works, or construction.
- Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s Illinois service areas (own transportation) and attend client and in‑office meetings as required.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
The pay range for this role is $100,000–$130,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
