KDM Engineering is searching for a Civil Engineer with experience in the utility or transportation industry. Our Site Civil opportunity offers numerous challenges and an opportunity to become an important part of a well‑established professional group.

Responsibilities
  • Function as part of a project team consisting of professional engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of all facets of civil engineering.
  • Work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting and solving a wide variety of civil engineering related issues.
  • Experience with Electric utilities specifically Exelon (Com Ed, PEPCO, BGE etc.) with projects encompassing underground conduit design for projects such as facility relocation, new business connections, capacity planning, underground Fiber installation.
  • Drawings creation and permit submittal and permit approval review processes for Office of Underground Coordination (OUC).
  • Perform designs for civil site grading and drainage for site civil design and land development projects.
  • Site walkdowns before, during and after the design completion.
  • Construction support for contractor RFIs on the designs created by the engineer.
  • Experience with developing MOT (maintenance of Traffic) Plans, Site restoration Plans.
  • Ability to process survey data, utility maps and base mapping for civil projects.
  • Perform designs for utility infrastructure using subsurface utility engineering ("SUE") guidelines.
  • Assist the Senior Engineer to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
  • Coordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
  • Interface with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications for client recommendations.
  • Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree required from ABET accredited institution.
  • E.I.T certification (passed the FE exam).
  • 4-6 years of experience.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Construction experience.
  • Surveying experience.
  • Structural design experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be willing to comply with all pre‑employment screening, including but not limited to drug testing, reference verification, education and employment verification, and background screening.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in‑office (Tuesday, core in‑office day) 2 days work from home.
