Director Of Operations

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to oversee the preparation of construction drawings, permitting, contract administration, and the review of RFIs and submittals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for quality control and assurance of all deliverables, working closely with project managers and production staff on both prototypical and custom projects.

Responsibilities

+ Oversee the preparation of construction drawings, permitting, and entitlements.

+ Manage contract administration, addenda, and construction bulletins.

+ Review RFIs and submittals, closeouts, and warranty reviews.

+ Assign workload and adjust staffing needs based on project requirements.

+ Ensure efficiency in project deliverables through strategic planning.

+ Direct and assist project managers and production staff.

+ Apply expert knowledge of materials and technical detail solutions.

Qualifications

+ 10-15 years of experience in the industry.

+ Licensed in IL, MI, and MN with NCARB reciprocity.

+ Highly proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

+ Excellent understanding of building codes and energy conservation codes.

+ Expert knowledge with MEP/S/C/L disciplines.

+ Experience in industrial, office, and retail new construction and interior alterations.

Additional Skills

+ Experience as Director of Operations on prototypical projects preferred.

+ Ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid environment.

+ Travel to assist project managers in the field up to 2-3 times/month.

+ Ability to excel in a fast-paced and client-focused position.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
