Sercomm is looking for an experienced Test Engineer in the Denver Metro area to provide testing support to our North American customers. You'll work as an on-site Test Engineer/Manager, running tests and managing our test house facility. In this role, you'll be responsible for independently testing wireless and home-based internet and telecommunications equipment (Wi-Fi, modems, routers) in a residential neighborhood home environment.
Day-to-DayResponsibilities Test House Management & Operations
- Take the lead in building, managing, and maintaining wireless test environments
- Keep the test house in good condition and fully operational
- Prioritize and manage daily testing and test house activities
- Work at the test house during normal work hours
- Define test cases for product functionality and performance validation
- Develop and implement test procedures with experience automating systems to bring best practices forward
- Troubleshoot and triage wireless issues from an RF or protocol level
- Ensure difficult customer issues can be replicated and triaged
- Define strategy for future processes, tools, and automation techniques
- Evaluate and recommend testing tools and technologies to improve quality and efficiency
- Prepare test reports and presentation materials
- Communicate with customers in technical terms and translate their needs into effective solutions
- Convey complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, test engineering, manufacturing) to ensure deployment success
- Work with overseas engineering and testing teams, including communication outside normal work hours when needed
- Experience working with DOCSIS, PON, WiFi, and Cellular LTE/5G products and infrastructures
- Deep understanding of industry standards
- Experience with broadband headend systems and consumer products connections (CMTS, OLT, 4G/5G network emulators, etc.)
- Familiar with networking protocols: TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, etc.
- Must be in the Denver Metro Area
- Excellent debugging and analytical skills
- Strong troubleshooting abilities, especially for wireless issues at RF or protocol levels
- Commitment to staying current with technology development as the industry evolves
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Self-starter who s comfortable with independence and willing to take ownership
- Ability to work effectively with both local and overseas teams across different time zones
