Regional Sales Manager – Fiber Optic Solutions About the Company

Our client is a global manufacturer and supplier of high-performance interconnect and fiber optic solutions, operating as part of a large, multinational industrial group with thousands of employees worldwide and manufacturing, engineering, and sales operations across North America, Europe, and Asia.

The business specialises in harsh-environment fiber optic systems designed for mission-critical applications. Their products are used by leading organisations in aerospace, defence, oil & gas, industrial automation, and other demanding markets where reliability, performance, and durability are essential. With a strong focus on engineering excellence and long-term customer partnerships, the company continues to invest in new technologies, product development, and global growth.

The Role

They are seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Sales Manager to lead and grow business across the Eastern United States. This is a strategic, customer-facing role with responsibility for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and coordinating sales activity across a mix of direct sales, channel partners, and distributors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping regional sales strategy, identifying new opportunities, and managing complex, technically driven sales cycles within high-reliability markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with long-term business objectives
  • Coordinate and lead regional sales resources, including direct sales personnel, manufacturers’ representatives, and distributors
  • Use data analysis and market intelligence to identify new customer and application opportunities
  • Actively manage the sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up and closure of opportunities
  • Deliver against regional revenue and gross margin targets, providing accurate forecasts and performance reporting
  • Maintain a regular territory travel schedule to build strong relationships with customers and channel partners
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering, operations, and other business units to maximise opportunity capture and repeat business
  • Provide project oversight on key customer programmes where required
  • Contribute to the development and execution of multi-year strategic sales plans
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–10 years’ experience in technical or solutions-based sales, ideally within electronics, interconnects, or fiber optic technologies
  • Strong commercial mindset with analytical problem-solving skills and a results-driven approach
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with confidence using tools such as Excel and Power Point
  • Comfortable working remotely from a home office and travelling extensively (approximately 50%, including overnight stays)
  • Based in a major East Coast metropolitan area with access to a primary airport
  • Familiarity with aerospace, defence, oil & gas, or industrial markets is advantageous but not essential
Additional Requirements
  • Due to regulatory requirements, applicants must be eligible to work under U.S. export control regulations (U.S. Person status as defined by ITAR)
What’s on Offer
  • Competitive compensation package including base salary and performance incentives
  • Opportunity to work with industry-leading technologies and high-profile customers
  • High level of autonomy within a supportive, collaborative, and globally connected organisation
  • Long-term career development within a stable and growing international business
