This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Power Systems Engineer - REMOTE. In this role, you will leverage advanced power system theory and simulation skills to design and validate cutting-edge microgrid control systems. Collaborating with various engineering teams, external suppliers, and utility operators, your impact will extend to proving the feasibility of microgrids that deliver critical data center loads, ensuring their reliability at a large scale.

- Model and simulate microgrid dynamics by developing detailed models for various energy sources.
- Validate system stability and performance through contingency simulations.
- Collaborate across engineering teams and external suppliers to refine system design.
- Support testing, optimization, and field validation efforts for microgrid systems.
- Participate in Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
- M.S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems or control systems.
- 4–8+ years of experience in EMT and dynamic power system studies.
- Hands-on experience with PSCAD or similar EMT tools.
- Strong understanding of inverter operating modes and dynamic load modeling.
- Familiarity with modeling communications delays and control system interactions.
- Knowledge of utility interconnection and market requirements, particularly within ERCOT.
- Collaborative and detail-oriented work style with strong problem-solving skills.
- Total compensation including base salary and performance bonuses ranging from USD $185,000 to $195,000.
